(Modesto, Calif. and Lincoln, Neb. – August 24, 2026) – Modesto Junior College Athletics has signed a three-year partnership with Opendorse, the leading Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) technology, data, and service provider, giving Pirates student-athletes access to Opendorse’s full platform for building their brands and managing opportunities.
The agreement makes Modesto Junior College the fifth California Community College Athletic Association (3C2A) institution to partner with Opendorse, joining a growing list of California community colleges investing in dedicated NIL support for their student-athletes.
Through the partnership, Modesto Junior College will launch a branded marketplace where Pirates student-athletes can build profiles, set activity rates, and connect directly with fans, alumni, and local businesses for NIL deals.
Student-athletes will also have on-demand access to NIL education covering personal branding, marketing, and financial literacy, with expert-led webinars and premium video lessons on topics like contracts and tax preparation. The lessons help athletes figure out who they are as a brand, tell that story well, and grow it into real opportunities over time.
“At Modesto Junior College, we’re committed to giving our student-athletes every opportunity to grow both on and off the field. This partnership with Opendorse empowers our Pirates to build their personal brand and navigate NIL opportunities with the same tools and education available at four-year institutions — putting our program at the forefront of the evolving college athletics landscape.”
“Modesto Junior College is giving its student-athletes a direct way to build their brands and connect with the fans and businesses who want to support them,” said Jake Daugherty, Director, Collegiate Partnerships at Opendorse. “We’re glad to work alongside their athletic department to help every Pirate take advantage of what NIL has to offer.”
