(Henderson, Tenn. and Lincoln, Neb. – August 31, 2026) – Freed-Hardeman University Athletics has announced a new partnership with Opendorse, the leading Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) technology, data, and service provider. As the newest member of the Mid-South Conference to partner with Opendorse, Freed-Hardeman is equipping its student-athletes with the tools, education, and opportunities to build their personal brands in the NIL era.
Through this partnership, Lion student-athletes will gain access to a branded NIL Marketplace, giving fans, alumni, and local businesses a direct and compliant way to connect with and support their favorite athletes. The partnership also includes on-demand NIL education covering personal finance, brand development, and best practices.
A dedicated success manager and expanded support resources give the department hands-on guidance throughout the partnership, while real-time dashboards and automatic disclosure tools keep compliance staff equipped and informed.
“Our goal is to provide an excellent student-athlete experience and partnering with Opendorse and giving our athletes additional opportunities through the NIL Marketplace is a part of that vision,” said Jonathan Estes, Freed-Hardeman University Athletic Director.
“Every athlete deserves access to NIL education and opportunity, regardless of division or school size,” said Jake Daugherty, Director, Collegiate Partnerships at Opendorse. “Freed-Hardeman is proving that commitment with this partnership, and we’re proud to support the Lions.”
Freed-Hardeman joins a growing number of NAIA institutions recognizing that NIL support has become a core part of the student-athlete experience, both on campus and in recruiting and retention.
