(Omaha, Neb. and Lincoln, Neb. – July 8, 2025) – The University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) has extended its contract with Opendorse, the TIME100 Most Influential Company and college athletics NIL leader, expanding its cutting-edge partnership in support of Maverick student-athletes and coaches.
With this custom partnership, Omaha Athletics will benefit from Opendorse’s Premium product offerings, including on-site NIL educational programming, an Omaha-branded NIL Marketplace and full access to ‘Team Builder’—a roster and cap management tool that will assist Maverick personnel in making data decisions across all sports in structuring financial packages to recruit and retain student-athletes.
“We are excited to elevate our innovative partnership with Opendorse as our industry evolves,” said Vice Chancellor / Director of Athletics Adrian Dowell. “Leveraging their expertise in the art of resource generation and science in resource allocation will be invaluable as we position our student-athletes and coaches for continued success.”
While the university is not opting in to the terms of the House settlement in year one, UNO continues to proactively lay the foundation for an efficient transition in the future. With the Opendorse ‘Contract’ and ‘Payment’ products already in place, the institution continues to position Maverick programs for long-term success in this new era of college athletics.
“Opendorse continues to be a leader in the NIL industry and Omaha Athletics is fortunate to have such a tremendous partner in our community,” said Executive Associate Athletic Director of Internal Affairs Matt Maher. “Throughout the years, Opendorse has provided tremendous support to our student-athletes in their NIL pursuits. Now, with this extension, Opendorse will provide our coaches with the expertise of a remote general manager position and NIL software management tool to ensure long-term success in this landscape.”
In 2024, Omaha Athletics and Opendorse announced a strategic partnership to revolutionize student-athlete education and success. Holistic Athlete™ combines UNO’s long-standing commitment to innovative education with Opendorse’s expertise in Name, Image, and Likeness athlete-focused financial literacy and other elements of the student-athlete experience.
