We are excited to announce that we are looking for a Full-Time, bilingual English/Spanish speaking, Medical Assistant with Dr. Mehul Shah in Millburn, NJ.

About the Role:

As a Medical Assistant at Dr. Mehul Shah, M.D – Essex Digestive Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our healthcare facility. Your primary responsibility will be to support healthcare professionals in delivering high-quality patient care, which includes preparing patients for examinations and assisting during procedures. You will also be responsible for managing electronic health records, ensuring that patient information is accurate and up-to-date. Additionally, you will perform vital tasks such as taking vital signs, conducting venipuncture, and handling multi-line phone systems to facilitate effective communication. Ultimately, your contributions will enhance patient experiences and support the overall mission of our practice to provide exceptional digestive health care.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • English/Spanish-Speaking REQUIRED

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting.
  • Certification as a Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA).
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs and medical histories.
  • Assist physicians during examinations and procedures, ensuring a sterile and safe environment.
  • Perform venipuncture and other laboratory tests as required, ensuring accuracy and patient comfort.
  • Manage electronic health records by entering and updating patient information promptly.
  • Handle multi-line phone systems to schedule appointments, answer patient inquiries, and communicate with other healthcare providers.

Skills:

The required skills of vital signs measurement, medical assisting, and phlebotomy are essential for daily patient interactions, ensuring that each patient receives thorough and compassionate care. Proficiency in performing venipuncture is critical for obtaining blood samples, which aids in accurate diagnosis and treatment. Your ability to manage electronic health records will streamline patient data management, allowing for efficient access to medical histories and treatment plans. Strong critical thinking skills will enable you to assess patient needs and respond effectively to any issues that arise during patient care. Additionally, your experience with multi-line phones and fax machines will facilitate seamless communication within the healthcare team and with patients.
